Video Clips

This is a new area of the site to display excerpts from videos I have taken of trains around the West Midlands. The clips are presented here in Quicktime format and should open in a new window when the image from your desired video clip is selected below. However, they do take a while to download to the browser: on 1Mb broadband they take 1 to 2 minutes before displaying for play - please have patience! I plan to put many clips on the site in future updates so please give me your feedback: is the format ok, for example?

Asbestos at Brownhills West (CR) Asbestos at Brownhills West (CR)

These two clips show Asbestos (0-4-0ST 2780) of the Chasewater Railway running around its train at Brownhills West station and stopping to take on water en route. The loco was built in 1909 by R.W.Hawthorne, Leslie & Co of Newcastle for the Turner & Newall Asbestos factory in Manchester and is one of a selection of great industrial locos held at the Chasewater Railway.

Asbestos at Chasetown Church St (CR) Sentinel at Chasewater Heaths (CR)

Above we again see Asbestos having just run around its train at the other end of the Chasewater line: Chasetown Church Street halt.

This clip shows the odd site of 1957 Sentinel loco 9632, formerly at work in Pleck Gas Works, shunting a car from a 117 DMU into Chasewater Heaths station: again on the Chasewater Railway!
