Snow Hill Metro Stop

1999 - Present

The Metro occuppies one platform of the new incarnation of Birmingham Snow Hill Station along the side of Snow Hill itself. Platform 4 for the Metro canbe entered without going through the station booking hall via a lift/stairwell down from the point where the photograph above was taken - it gives a good vantage point! Considering the heritage of the station site itself, the usage of the space is underwhelming - evidence of this can be better seen by viewing the main page from Birmingham Snow Hill elsewhere on this site.

Above-left we are on Platform 4 looking along the site of the station towards St Pauls Metro stop which is just in the distance. Above-right I thought I'd include a shot of the trackbed as the semi-sleeper with each segment kept at an equidistance by a steel truss-rod arrangement was somewhat unusual.
