Loxdale Metro Stop

1999 - Present

Loxdale Metro stop sits, as with the majority of the Metro route, on the old GWR Snow Hill to Wolverhampton Low Level trackbed. However, unlike some of the other stops on the Metro route, Loxdale is not on the site of a previous station but was created specifically for the Metro. Above we see the entrance to Loxdale Metro stop on Loxdale Street.

Above-left we are looking down at the stop from the Loxdale Street footbridge in the direction of Wolverhampton. Above-right we see the long entrance ramp down to the Birmingham platform from Loxdale Street.

Above-left we are looking towards Birmingham through the Loxdale Street overbridge and above-right we are looking towards Wolverhampton from the Birmingham platform. There really isn't anything to say about this Metro stop as it has no history in railway terms and was just trackbed until the Metro came into being.
