Bradley Lane Metro Stop

1999 - Present

As you will be aware, there was a railway station at Bradley which was operational between 1862 and 1915 under the BW&D/GWR. However, Bradley Lane Metro stop is not on the site of that station. Above we see the entrance to the stop on Bradley Lane overbridge. The aforementioned Bradley station lay behind the photographer the other side of the road bridge.

Above-left we are still on Bradley Lane overbridge looking towards Bilston. The striking thing for me about the Metro stops is there diminutive stature compared with 'heavy' rail stations: they appear somewhat dwarfed by their surroundings. Above-right we have moved down the entrance ramp and are looking at the stop as a Birmingham Snow Hill-bound tramcar pulls in.

Above we are on the Wolverhampton 'platform' looking along the track towards Bilston Central which is the next stop Wolverhampton-bound on the line.
