Excellent site, and of particular interest to me. My great great grandfather Samuel Langford was a Station Master and lived at Fenton Street Brierly Hill in 1866. I guess it's fair to assume that he was a Railway Station Master at Brierley Hill Station. Would love to hear from anyone that can confirm that fact. Kind Regards, Pauline |

Congratulations on a very well laid out and interesting website. I have fond memories of my trips between Erdington and Sutton Coldfield as a schoolboy back in the '50s. My, how the line has changed since those days. I remember well the Fowler and Webb tanks and later the DMU's which hauled the trains to and from Lichfield. I am still a train fanatic and now enjoy driving a 7.25inch gauge miniature steam pacific loco most weekends. |

What a website - brings back lots of memories, especially along the Halesowen branch - Rubery Stn was close to my old school. Now involved in building O-gauge layout, hopefully invoking lots of those old memories. |

Hi Andy!
Thank you very much for the photos of the old Corporation Street Depot. I took a couple myself but was a little late as the demolition was already in progress! Wonderful site you have here. Keep up the good work! |

Fantastic website, very intresting to look around the stations long-gone and existing ones today. I find the Wolverhampton L/L to Bordesley section most fascinating, when i was young i was often on the Paddington-Birmingham Snow Hill trains and i have some memories of this route-- "The better way to london" ! keep up the good work and once again- many thanks :) |

Past and present, then and now of the railways of the West Midlands and Staffordshire is of immense interest to me. I've been a train driver for twenty years and to see the sometimes very small signs of what used to be is fascinating. Thank you for a excellent and unrivaled website. |

Thanks for the entry Stephen - I'm looking forward to seeing the new book in print myself as I'm just about to start work on the Worcestershire and Warwickshire volume which should complete the 3 part series. Hopefully it will have a few bits of interest for you and as an aside, I'd recommend anyone reading this to visit your website too as theres's ome great stuff on there! |
